Post PM Modi’s visit to city: Pourakarmikas, BJP activists, contract workers on a cleaning-spree

Mysuru: The sprawling Maharaja’s College Grounds where PM Modi addressed a mammoth gathering yesterday, wore a deserted look today with Pourakarmikas, BJP activists and contract workers who had constructed the stage and installed barricades along the route of PM’s convoy were busy cleaning the premises and removing the stage and barricades.

The Maharaja’s College Ground was littered with trash including plastic, paper plates, empty drinking water and butter milk sachets which were found strewn all over the sprawling ground despite dustbins provided at the venue. Ironically, heaps of filled drinking water sachets were found at many places in the ground.

About 80 persons including Pourakarmikas, BJP activists and contract workers were seen cleaning the grounds and its surroundings today. While some contract workers were seen removing the stage, carpets and chairs and loading them to trucks, some of them were seen removing survey poles which were put up as barricades along the route on which PM Modi travelled in city yesterday.

The whole process of cleaning would be completed by this evening, it is learnt.
