Postcard campaign against amendment to Land Reforms Act

June 19, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagruti Vedike, in association with Dalit Sangagala Okkoota, held a postcard campaign on Tuesday condemning the State Government’s move to amend Land Reforms Act.

The activists, who gathered in front of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) premises, posted letters to Chief Minister expressing their opposition. They alleged that CM Yediyurappa is making farmers lose their land by bringing in amendment to Land Reforms Act, which had been strengthened by former CM D. Devaraj Urs.

Pointing out that this would only help real estate agents and multinational companies to grab farmers’ land to their own benefit, they urged the State Government to drop the proposed amendment.

Vedike President K.S. Shivaramu, Okkoota Convenor P. Raju and others were present.
