Mysuru:  Nele Hinnele, Janamana Samskrutika Sanghatane and Sawanna Prakashana together had organised a function at the Humanities Block auditorium in Manasangangothri here last evening for the release of the book ‘Avaravara Bhavakke’ written by actor Prakash Rai which is a compilation of his own columns. Critic O.L. Nagabhushana Swamy handed over a copy of the book to writer   Devanur Mahadeva.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahadeva observed that Prakash Rai’s writing was literally having a living touch with contemporary aspects of life. He said that Prakash views life from the existing scenario and not from his school of thoughts.

Claiming that this is the first direct meeting with Prakash Rai, Nagabhushana Swamy said that Prakash was not just a great actor but also a very good human being with humility. He pointed out that the book was a class of its own and emphasised that Prakash has the creativity and capability to come out with a novel.

Addressing the gathering, Prakash Rai said that writing had given him an opportunity to go nostalgic and unwind a string of memorable incidents. He expressed gratitude to the heritage of Karnataka and richness of Kannada. He added that he liked to be straight forward and curt but does not mean that he is always right.

Writer Prof. C. Naganna, theatre artistes Mandya Ramesh & K.R. Sumathi, journalist Ravindra Bhat and Sawanna Prakashana Proprietor S.H. Jameel were present.

Interestingly, all the dignitaries including Devanur Mahadeva paid the price of the book before receiving them.
