Mysuru: Marking World Music Day, Pratibhe Vedike, Mysuru, had organised ‘Dasa Sahitya Chintane’ at Dr. Pradeep Kumar Hebri auditorium, Veerashaiva Sarvajanika Seva Samsthe, Vijaya College in Srirampura 2nd Stage here last evening.
Delivering a lecture on ‘Dasa Sahitya,’ littérateur Dr. Pradeep Kumar Hebri opined that a good literature was essential for music along with rhythm. He recalled that ‘Dasa Sahitya’ was coined in the backdrop of devotion and philosophy. Dr. Hebri said that Bhagavata has taught us nine types of devotional routes — Shravana, Keerthana, Smarana, Padasevana, Archana,
Vandana, Daasya, Sakhya and Atma Nivedana.
PUMA Company Chief Brand Adviser S. Sumana Srinath inaugurated the event. Vedike President S. Rajaratnam presided over the programme.
Ventriloquist Suma Rajkumar of Bigg Boss fame also spoke on the occasion.
Vedike Hon. Advisor S. Nagendra Rao was the chief guest. Students of Bharathi Manjunath’s Sharada Kalakendra, Kavyashri R. Rao and Vidya Phaniraj recited ‘Dasa Sahitya’. R. Sanjitha compered the programme.
