The Kannada and Culture Department had organised a preliminary meeting at Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) Office in city on Monday to discuss the celebration of various Jayanthis in the month of January. Additional DC Dr. B.S. Manjunathaswamy (now transferred), who chaired the meeting, said that Ambigara Chowdaiah Jayanthi will be celebrated at Kiru Rangamandira here on Jan. 21 at 11.30 am.

Kannada and Culture Assistant Director Dr. M.D. Sudarshan said that Sri Shivayogi Siddeshwara Jayanthi has been postponed following Sankranthi festival on Jan. 15.  The revised date of celebrating the Jayanthi on Feb. 6 will be confirmed later. Kannada activist Thayur Vittalamurthy, Ambigara Chowdaiah Jayanthi and Sri Shivayogi Siddeshwara Jayanthi Celebration Committees’ Presidents, Secretaries and Kannada and Culture Officials were present.
