Planning Commission Dy. Chairman B.R. Patil
Mysore/Mysuru: B.R. Patil, Deputy Chairman of Karnataka State Planning Commission, has instructed all the districts in the ambit of Mysuru division, to submit the district planning report, prior to drafting of the State Budget, before Dec. 15.
He was presiding over the progress review meeting of the districts under Mysuru division, held at Zilla Panchayat meeting hall in the city on Thursday.
“As we ideologically believe in decentralisation system, the district level meeting of the committees prior to the drafting of the plan should be held on time. The emphasis should be on, sustainable development, Gross Development Product GDP) and Human Development Index (HDI).
The planning report should be prepared on the basis of available grants to improve HDI and the scope for development, after executing the plan, suggested Patil.
ZP Chief Executive Officer (CEO) S. Ukesh Kumar said, the Taluk Level Planning Committee meetings have been conducted at every taluk under the chairmanship of respective MLAs, from Nov.4 to 15. A report will be submitted after the district level meeting.
Mandya ZP CEO K.R. Nandini apprised that, the planning report is being prepared with a focus on education, agriculture, nutritious food among other key components.
S. Basavaraj, Senior Director (Coordination), Human Development Division, explained about methods to achieve human development, sustainable development, progress report of districts, the areas in which they are lagging behind and methods to achieve progress, incorporation of plans to steer the growth.
Secretary to the Government Ramandeep Chowdhary, ZP CEOs of Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Chamarajanagar and Dakshina Kannada, Taluk and District-level officers were present.
