Presence of mind and general knowledge essential for management of export units

Presence of mind, common sense and General Knowledge among entrepreneurs play a vital role in successful conduct of export activities by enterprises, opined Vice-President of Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) Sudhakar S. Shetty in city  this morning.

He was speaking after inaugurating a Six-day Export Management Training Programme organised by Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre (VTPC), in association with District Industries Centre (DIC),  Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and Mysuru Industries Association (MIA) at the Institution of Engineers premises on JLB road here.

Stating that entrepreneurs, who have sufficient feedbacks on facilities available for export through advance technology like raw materials, should focus on skill development, which can assure success of the enterprises in exports and added that they can utilise the benefits offered by banks which extend financial assistance on prompt repayment  of loans.

Mentioning that there were 5.55 lakh industries in the State, Shetty said that they had lots of scopes for growth as the Government is extending all sorts of support for development of industries.

During the six-day training programme, participating  entrepreneurs will be imparted with all information on laws governing the Export Policy, provisions in Customs and Excise Policy, packages for exporters, GST, VAT etc.
