Presence of Sandesh Nagaraj in JD(S) LP meeting questioned

Bengaluru: An intriguing incident took place this morning at the JD(S) Legislature Party (JD-S LP) meeting held at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru when towards the end of the meeting, Tourism Minister S.R. Mahesh told Party President and Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to ask MLC Sandesh Nagaraj to leave the meeting hall for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities. Minister C.S. Puttaraju too supported Mahesh, sources said.

Reacting strongly to this statement, Sandesh Nagaraj asked Mahesh what authority he had to make such statement when he is neither the Party State President nor the District President. If the party President felt if there was any truth in the allegation, he (Kumaraswamy) was free to expel him. However, Kumaraswamy was silent during these verbal exchanges while at the same time other legislators asked Minister Mahesh not to raise this issue at this juncture, according to sources.

When Star of Mysore contacted Sandesh Nagaraj, he said it was true that the incident had taken place and he had responded suitably.
