Press Day-2021 celebrations: MDJA Annual Awards presentation ceremony in city tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) has organised a programme at Rani Bahadur Auditorium, Manasagangothri, tomorrow (Aug. 26) at 10.30 am to mark the Press Day-2021 celebrations and to present MDJA Annual Awards.  Minister S.T. Somashekar will inaugurate. Mysore University VC Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar will be the main speaker. MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev will present Awards. MLA L. Nagendra will be the chief guest. MDJA President S.T. Ravikumar will preside.

The awardees are as follows: 

Best Report in Kannada: Satish Depura – Udayavani; Rural Report in Kannada: H.S. Sachit of Hunsur – Prajavani; Best Report in English: Rajkumar Bhavasar (RKB) – Star of Mysore; Best Photograph: S. Udayashankar – The New Indian Express; Best Report in Electronic Media: Doordarshan reporter G. Jayanth and cameraman Ramu.

Felicitation

The following achievers in the field will be felicitated on the occasion: Lifetime Achievement: R. Krishna Kumar, Deputy Editor – The Hindu; Senior Sub-editor: H.K. Nagesh – Vijaya Karnataka; Senior Photographer: S.R. Madhusudhan – The Times of India; Rural Journalist: K.T. Ramesh of K.R. Nagar – Mysuru Mithra; Senior Reporter of Electronic Media: K.P. Nagaraj – Public TV; Senior Cameraman: E. Karthik – Public TV.

Apart from that, Karnataka Media Academy Members Kudli Gururaj and C.K. Mahendra, Kannada Rajyotsava Awardee C. Maheshwaran (Editor of Sadhvi) and Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar Award recipients Echanur Kumar and Amshi Prasannakumar will be honoured.
