Prez to stay overnight in Mysuru on Feb. 6

Mysuru: President Ram Nath Kovind will land in Mysore Airport at Mandakalli on Feb.6 at 7 pm and after an overnight stay at Government Guest House, will leave for Shravanabelagola to participate in the 88th Mahamastakabhisheka Celebrations on Feb.7.

This is the first time the President will be visiting the city though he will not participate in any official event. He will leave New Delhi on Feb.6 at 4 pm in the Air India one aircraft and land at Mysore Airport at 7 pm.

The newly elected Mayor B. Bhagyavathi will receive the President. From there, he will be driven to Government Guest House in Nazarbad where he will stay for the night.

The next day (Feb.7) Kovind will depart for Shravanabelagola at 9 am in a smaller aircraft and land there at 9.45 am.

After participating in Mahamastakabhisheka celebrations, he will leave there at 12 noon, land in Mysore Airport at 12.45 pm and later leave for New Delhi.

The President’s Secretariat has sent the tentative tour programme to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, which in turn has forwarded it to the District Administration for making all necessary arrangements.

The District Administration and the Police Department are making all necessary arrangements for the security of the President. DC D. Randeep has directed DCP Law and Order N. Vishnuvardhan, Traffic DCP Dr. V. Vikram Amathe, Forest Department officials, Airports Authority of India and PWD  to take all precautionary measures at the Airport and the route that the President takes to reach the Government Guest House.
