MCC Commissioner steps in as e-Khata applicant is sent back empty-handed

Mysuru: An applicant who had come for the special e-Aasthi campaign was asked to visit the Zonal Office to complete the process, prompting Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner M.K. Savitha to intervene.

According to Savitha, the applicant had submitted an application but was directed by Zonal Office personnel, including the Assistant Commissioner and Revenue Inspector, to visit the Zonal Office concerned.

As the applicant was walking home, Savitha asked him whether his application had been processed. When he explained what had happened, she questioned why he was being sent elsewhere when the special drive had been organised to provide services at a single location. She directed the officials to complete the Khata process at the MCC headquarters itself.

Officials cited technical issues, including a printer malfunction. Savitha said any equipment required would be provided immediately. A printer from MCC Commissioner’s chamber was then made available to ensure the applicant’s Khata could be processed without further delay.
