Mysore/Mysuru: A delegation comprising Cluster Director Rashmi Koti, along with General Secretary of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Council Suresh Kumar Jain, recently submitted a memorandum to Mysuru Deputy Commissioner (DC) G. Lakshmikanth Reddy seeking approval of the project and allotment of land to SPV Units of Printers Cluster Common Facility Centre project of the Mysore Print and Paper Cluster Foundation, which has been progressing slowly since 2013.
Government of India assistance of Rs. 10 crore is available for this project once the land is allotted to Cluster SPV Units. KIADB had reserved 7.8 acres land at Koorgalli Industrial Area in 2016 and the State Government has appointed a consultant for implementing the project.
Once developed, the Print and Paper Cluster project is expected to benefit more than 300 printing and allied industries in Mysuru district. At present, a similar Print Park at Harohalli near Bengaluru is operating successfully with funding from the Union and State Governments.
