Mysore/Mysuru: A private company employee and his friend were allegedly waylaid and assaulted with a lethal weapon on Pulikeshi Road in Mandi Mohalla during the early hours of Tuesday. The victims have been identified as S. Rajeev, a resident of T.K. Layout and his friend Tejas.
At around 2.30 am, Rajeev, who works at a private firm in Bannur, was driving along Pulikeshi Road with Tejas when two unidentified men on scooters overtook their car. After riding ahead, the duo took a U-turn and stopped the car.
When Rajeev stepped out to question them, one of the riders picked a quarrel and suddenly pulled out the lethal weapon, attacking Rajeev and inflicting injuries on his neck and hand. As Tejas rushed to his friend’s aid, the second rider reportedly slapped and threatened him.
Startled and injured, both Rajeev and Tejas fled the spot. The attackers sped away when they noticed passersby approaching. Tejas later admitted Rajeev to a hospital. Based on Rajeev’s statement, Mandi Mohalla Police have registered a case and launched a hunt to trace and arrest the two scooter-borne assailants.
