Private Hospitals to reserve 50 percent beds for COVID patients: Dr. Yoganna takes exception to Govt. directive

Mysore/Mysuru: Strongly opposing the Government directive asking Private Hospitals to reserve 50 percent of beds for COVID-19 patients, Suyog Hospital Chairman Dr. S.P. Yoganna said that the Government directive will push Private Hospitals to the brink of closure.

In a press release, Dr. Yoganna said that reservation of beds can lead to mix up of COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients, which is disastrous for both the patients and the Hospital staff.

Observing that the Government, instead of asking Private Hospitals for beds, can convert all its Hospitals into designated COVID-19 Hospitals, he said that the Government, if necessary, can take Private Hospitals on rent and turn them into COVID Hospitals.
