‘Process to fill up 4,000 vacancies in Home Department has begun’

Bengaluru: Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said that the process for filling up 4,000 vacancies in the Home Department is underway. Replying to a question by T. Venkataramanaiah in Legislative Assembly here on Tuesday, Jnanendra said that there were over 35,000 vacancies in the Dept. for the past several years. But B.S. Yediyurappa as the CM earlier and the current CM Basavaraj Bommai took measures to fill up the vacancies stage by stage, which resulted in addition of more personnel to Police and other Departments coming under the Ministry, he maintained.

Pointing out that currently there are 12,000 vacancies, he said that the process of recruiting 950 Police Sub-Inspectors has just concluded. The Government is taking all measures to ensure filling up of all vacancies in the Home Department as soon as possible, he added.
