Prof. Chandrashekar Adiga (67), retired Professor, Department of Studies in Mathematics and a resident of No. 3, Deepa Nagar, passed away in the wee hours of today in city.

He leaves behind his wife Shanthi Shekar, sons Nikhil Shekar and Nirmal Shekar, daughters-in-law and a host of relatives and friends.

Prof. Chandrashekar was a leading expert in the field of Graph Theory and Number Theory, especially in the works of genius mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujam.

Last rites were held at the foot of Chamundi Hill this afternoon.
