Mysuru: Prof. H.R. Chetana has been appointed on deputation as the Director of Folklore Museum of University of Mysore (UoM) at Jayalakshmi Vilas Mansion in Manasagangothri campus in the city.
Prof. Chetana has been serving as the Head of Folklore Department, Maharaja’s College. She will continue to discharge her duty additionally as a teaching faculty at this College.
Having a vast experience of 36 years in academics, she has worked in various capacities as researcher, teacher, guide and writer, making significant contributions in the field of folklore.
Prof. Chetana has published over 20 books on folklore and has played a significant role in enriching the rich tradition of folklore, its conservation and growth.
Considering her unique contributions, she has been honoured with Karnataka Yakshagana Academy Award, Dr. Ha. Ma. Nayak Award and several other prestigious awards.
