Mysuru: Prof. K.B. Prabhuprasad (95) passed away at his residence, No. 11, Temple Road, this morning. He leaves behind his wife Bharathi, son Shubhadutt, daughter Yashomalini, grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were held at Chirashantidhama in Gokulam here this evening, according to family sources.

He was a Reader in English in Yuvaraja’s College, Mysuru and Principal of Government First Grade College, Tumakuru and Maharani’s Science College, Mysuru, before opting for voluntary retirement.

Prof. Prabhuprasad was the President of Sapta Swara Balaga, Mysuru and established a Hindustani Classical Music School in Mysuru. He was currently the Chairman of Bhagawan Sri Satya Sai Baba Mahila and Makkalakuta Trust, Mysuru.

He has also authored number of books including Degulagala Daariyalli (1961), Ranga Antaranga (1965) and Man – The Maker of His Own Destiny (1965).
