Prof. K.G. Sathyanarayana

Prof. K.G. Sathyanarayana (94), retired Joint Director of the Department of Public Instruction and a resident of Kuvempunagar ‘E&F’ Block, passed away at a private hospital in city on Tuesday, following brief illness.

A recipient of the President’s Medal as a Rover in Scouts and Guides, Prof. Sathyanarayana leaves behind son Dr. Rangopal, a Urologist in America, two daughters and a host of relatives and friends.

Prof. Sathyanarayana also served as the Head Master of Basavapatna Government High School at Arkalgud taluk of Hassan district, Head Master of Nuggehalli Government High School in Hassan district, Principal of Government Junior College in Srirangapatna, Professor in Education and Principal of Government B.Ed College, Mysuru and was also the Founder-President of Adarsha High School at Agrahara in Arkalgud taluk.

His body will be kept at his house ‘Ramakrupa’ in Kuvempunagar from 9 am tomorrow (July 7) for public to pay their last respects and the last rites will be held at 1 pm at the foot of Chamundi Hill, according to family sources.
