Mysuru – Dr. G.R. Thippeswamy, retired Professor, Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies (KIKS), Manasagangothri, has been selected for Prof. L.S. Sheshagiri Rao Critic Award.
The award will be presented by Prof. S.G. Siddaramaiah, Chairman, Kannada Development Authority at a function to be held on Apr. 20 at 6pm at B.M. Sri Kalabhavana, 3rd main road, NR Colony, Bengaluru.
Profile: Dr. G.R. Thippeswamy was born in Pavagada taluk of Tumakuru district. After obtaining his MA and Ph.D from Mysore University in Kannada, he joined Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies as a faculty and retired recently.
He has been a guide for about 20 research students and has served as Editor in many research projects. He has come out with over 50 books including Prasthapa, Praneeta, Abhimukha, Sahitya mattu Kriyasheelathe and many more.
