Prof. M. Krishnegowda’s book released

Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Adichunchanagiri Mutt Seer Nirmalanandnatha Swamiji, Mysuru Bishop Rev. Fr. K.A. William, St. Philomena’s College Rector Fr. Leslie Moras, Prof. Krishnegowda, film director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar and others are seen during the release of ‘Jalada Kannu’, a collection of Prof. Krishnegowda’s column at a function held in city yesterday .

Suttur Seer Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamiji released Jalada Kannu, a collection of the city’s noted humorist Prof. Krishnegowda’s column, at Prof. M. Krishnegowda Avarandige Ondu Dina-Haadu-Harate-Maatu-Manaranjane programme organised by Prof. M. Krishnegowda Hithaishigala Balaga at Chetan Garden, Golf Club road, behind Windflower Resorts and Spa here yesterday.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Deshikendra Swamiji said the event is of much importance as hundreds of Prof. Krishnegowda’s fans have gathered as a display of affection to a popular teacher, a great humorist and a person with exemplary talent.

Noting that it is difficult to get social recognition without the support and blessings of elderly family members, the Seer observed that Prof. Krishnegowda’s wife Kalpana and children played a key role in his success as a multi-faceted talent.

Pointing out that Prof. Krishnegowda had become a house hold name because of his humour and writings, the Swamiji said that the educational institution where he spent his career working as a Professor, too was instrumental in his (Prof. Krishnegowda) success.

Prof. Krishnegowda, who retired as St. Philomena’s College Principal recently, in his address, said he came up in life due to the blessings of his parents and other family members.

Stating that he would like to share his experiences with the people through such programmes, Prof. Krishnegowda expressed his gratitude to all those who supported him throughout his career as a teacher, humorist and writer.
