Prof. P. Jayaramaiah (87), a former faculty of University of Mysore and a resident of T.K. Layout in the city, passed away here yesterday following brief illness.

He leaves behind his son Prof. Ramesh Jayaramaiah, an English Department Faculty of University of Mysore, a daughter and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were performed at his native village Naguvanahalli in Srirangapatna taluk this afternoon, according                  to family sources.
