Prof. R. Vishweshwaran and 32 senior artistes from Mysuru to be feted 

Mysuru: Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira, Bengaluru, which is working for the promotion of Indian Classical Music and Dance for the past 62 years, has organised a programme today at Vasudevacharya Bhavana on JLB Road here at 6 pm to felicitate Prof. R. Vishweshwaran and 32 senior artistes from Mysuru.

Sri Yadugiri Yathiraja Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar will be honouring Vid. Vishweshwaran with  the title “Sangeetha Vedantha Dhureena” in memory of the founder of the Mandira late G. Vedantha Iyengar, along with a purse of Rs. 1 lakh  and a Silver Medal.  The other 32 senior artistes will be conferred with the title “Sangeetha Kalaa Suma” and a cash prize  of Rs. 10,000 each.

Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar, Vice-Chancellor of Music University and K. V. Murthy, President of Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, will be the chief guests.

A flute concert will be presented by Vid. Vamshidhar accompanied by Vid. K.J. Dileep on violin, Vid. A. Radhesh on mridanga and Vid. S. Manjunath on ghata at 5 pm.
