Mysore/Mysuru: Senior Sanskrit Scholar Dr. H.V. Nagaraja Rao released the book ‘Shivatatva Darpana,’ written by Prof. Y.S. Gowramma at a function jointly organised by city-based Samvahana Prakashana and Kannada Sahitya Kalakoota, at Hosmutt’s Nataraja Sabha Bhavan on Shankar Mutt Road in city recently.

Speaking after releasing the book, Dr. H.V. Nagaraja Rao said that ‘Shivatatva Darpana’ has information about our Saints and Sages, Lord Shiva, Vedas and Upanishads.

“Shiva is known by many names and the writer has quoted our ancient scriptures which deals with ‘Shaiva Siddhanta’ in her book. Prof. Gowramma’s book  is  based on her extensive study of many scriptures,” Dr. Nagaraja Rao opined.

The book has articles about ‘Shivanaamartha’, ‘Omkara Swaroopa’, ‘Pancha Krutyagalu’,  ‘Panchamukha Brahma Shiva’, ‘Ardha Nareeshwara Roopa’, ‘Jyotirlingagalu’, ‘Shivapanchaksharee Mantra’, ‘Eshwara Vyapaktva’, ‘Parameshwarana Vividha Roopagalu’ and ‘Shivarathri Mahatva’.

Sri Chidananda Swamiji of Sri Hosmutt, JSS College retired Principal Prof. Chandrashekaraiah, Samvahana Prakashana’s  D.N. Lokappa and Kannada Sahitya Kalakoota President M. Chandrashekar were present.
