Mysuru: A person, who was mistaken to be a thief, was beaten black and blue at Sub-Urban Bus Stand here last night. Manoj Kumar Sundaram, 35, an employee with a software firm and a resident of Bengaluru, is the victim.
Manoj, who had visited the city on official work, visited the Sub-Urban Bus Stand at around 11.45 pm to board a bus to Bengaluru only to be mistaken as a thief and beaten up by people.
Soon, the Lashkar Police arrived at the spot and took Manoj to their custody. Later, he was taken to K.R. Hospital where he was treated. The Police after finding out about Manoj dropped him back at the bus stand from where he boarded a bus to Bengaluru.
It may be recalled that in a similar incident, the Police had beaten up a person mistaking him to be a thief. In fact, the person, who was already injured, suffered more injuries on leg.
After the Police found the person was clean, they provided complete treatment for the person and later helped him board a bus back to his native Chamarajanagar.
