January 12, 2019

Mysuru: A case has been registered against a person for cheating a man of Rs.1 lakh after promising an MBBS seat in a reputed college in Dakshina Kannada. A complaint has been filed at Vijayanagar Police Station. According to Vipul Kumar, a native of Gujarat and at present a resident of Vijayanagar Second Stage, he was allegedly cheated by one Mahesh Patel from Ahmedabad. Vipul Kumar came in contact with Mahesh Patel online and the former had told Mahesh that he (Vipul) needed a medical seat for his son.

Seizing the opportunity, Mahesh Patel promised to get a seat for Vipul’s son at Kasturba Medical College in Dakshina Kannada or any reputed Medical College. Trusting Mahesh Patel, Vipul transferred Rs.1 lakh to the former’s bank account hoping for a Medical seat for his son.

After taking the money, Mahesh Patel had switched off his mobile phone and in no way Vipul Kumar could contact him. Later, Vipul Kumar lodged a complaint with Vijayanagar Police.
