Prompt action by civic authorities

December 11, 2019

Sir,

During my regular morning walk, I noticed the carcass of a cat lying in Chinmayi Park, Manujapatha Road, Kuvempunagar, on Dec.7. I telephonically requested the Mysuru City Corporation to get the cat’s body removed as foul smell was emanating from it and dogs were feeding on the same. I got a prompt message on my phone thanking me for lodging the complaint and an acknowledgement number, call centre number and giving a link for tracking the status of the complaint. It was also mentioned that the problem will be resolved within a day.

But, to my pleasant surprise, I got a telephone call from the Corporation staff within one-and-a-quarter-hour from the time of complaint. Two staff had already arrived near to the area and asked for the exact location.

I also reached the spot and showed them the spot in the park. Promptly they removed the carcass. In one-and-half-hours time the problem was resolved and I received a message on my phone to that effect and with the following message:

“Keep your City/Town clean. Thank you JANAHITHA. Our City/Town our responsibility.”

Full marks and kudos to the civic authorities who have put in place such a system and getting it implemented so efficiently and promptly through their dedicated field staff. I would like to mention here the names of the two staff who attended to the work: Sreenivas and Raju. They deserve all appreciation.

I request all the fellow citizens to join hands with our well meaning civic authorities to keep our city clean and quickly move up in its ranking of clean city. If Indore in Madhya Pradesh can move to the top position from a lower ranking within a short time and retain that position for three consecutive years, it is definitely possible for us also to regain our numero uno spot.
