Proper disposal of garbage needed in Yadavagiri

October 23, 2017

Heaps of industrial waste has been piling up near the corner of Gujarati Samaj Bhavan (Yadavagiri) for months and no effort has been made by MCC to dispose off the waste. The foul smell emanating from the garbage dump has also been an inconvenience to the walkers who pass by that stretch everyday. They try to burn it instead of cleaning it or using a garbage truck to dispose the waste. Burning causes more pollution as non-biodegradable materials like plastic wastes are also present in the heap and poses serious health problems to the residents living nearby, says Manisha M. Chand, a first year Journalism student of St. Joseph’s First Grade College, who has sent this picture to SOM and has urged the authorities to act immediately.
