MCC Officials return empty hand
Mysuru: A team of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Zone-9 officials, who went to clear an illegal construction on a road, returned empty-handed without eviction following stiff resistance from the owner and relatives at Kurubarahalli in city yesterday morning.
A complaint was filed by Kurubarahalli J. Prakash with the MCC against the owner of house number 77/1, 3rd Cross in the area for allegedly constructing a house illegally on the road. He urged MCC to clear the encroachment as it is blocking traffic.
MCC officials led by Zonal Officer Muralidhar and others went to the spot along with the Police to clear the encroachment. A wordy duel ensued between the officials and the house owner leading to tension for sometime.
House owner Puttaraju and his relatives denied the encroachment allegation and produced all supporting documents about their site ownership rights including the details of tax-paid receipts, khata and other details. Hence the officials returned without carrying out the eviction drive.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, Muralidhar said that the site was allotted to the owner by the then City Improvement Trust Board (CITB). “However, we will check the title deed and other details of the site ownership rights with MUDA and we will clear the encroachments if the house owner has encroached the road”, he said.
Meanwhile, in a press statement, M.N. Satish, brother of Puttaraju, has stated that the property is owned by them and they were rebuilding the cowshed which had collapsed during recent rains.
He alleged that some vested interests had filed a false complaint by producing fake records.
He has also stated that they had sought the blue-print and other documents from MUDA but the MUDA officials had failed to give them the documents as according to them, the documents were not available and hence they had collected a written reply copy from MUDA.
