Prosthetic equipment distributed to specially-abled children

 As part of its initiative to help differently – abled persons, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), distributed prosthetic equipments to specially-abled children at a programme organised at the Old Council Hall of the MCC here recently.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor M.J. Ravi Kumar said that specially-abled children were more intelligent than normal children and what they needed was not sympathy, but motivation and encouragement.

MCC Additional Commissioner N. Raju in his address, said that a total of 120 children have been distributed MR Kits so far. Hearing dispaired children were given hearing aids and those with mobility disability, were distributed wheel – chairs, he said and added that the MCC was planning to extend financial help to parents of specially – abled children.

Thirteen Mentally Retarded children were distributed MR Kits, hearing aids to five hearing dispaired children and wheel chair to three children on the occasion.

MCC Commissioner G. Jagadeesha, Corporators Mahadevappa and K.V. Mallesh, MCC Development Officer Suresh Babu and others were present.
