Protest against bid to stall land reserved for Valmiki Bhavan

August 4, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru:  Members of Karnataka Veerakesari Pade held a semi-nude protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue at Gandhi Square demanding action against those responsible for stalling the land allocated for Valmiki Bhavan, here yesterday.

Speaking on the occasion, Valmiki community leaders said that they had submitted an application to the Integrated Tribal Development Agency to allot a vacant Government Land on Sy.No.92 in Kasaba hobli along with the RTC for the construction of Valmiki Bhavan. Following which the  Tahsildar had written a letter to the Assistant Director of Land Records at the Taluk Office to prepare a sketch reserving the land for the Bhavan. “However,  a few have used the Office of Regional Commissioner to illegally prevent the allocation of the land with a letter being written to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner,” they said.
