Protest against Rangayana Director: Vedike urges activists to call off stir

Mysore/Mysuru: Calling the protest staged by Rangayana Ulisi Samithi urging Rangayana Director Addanda C. Cariappa to step down from the post as baseless, Mysuru Rakshana Vedike President M.K. Premkumar has urged the protestors to call off their stir.

Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, Premkumar said that protests pertaining to Rangayana have been going on since a week which is disturbing and is being politicised as political leaders were supporting it.

Accusing that the Police, instead of protecting Rangayana Director, who has been appointed by the Government were supporting the protestors, he said that though the protestors had submitted a memorandum in this regard to Chief Minister Bommai, who has sought time to decide, the protestors were still continuing their stir, which was not right. Vedike Advisor M.A. Mohan, who too spoke, said that Rangayana Director Cariappa was working efficiently and there is neither accusation against him nor any corruption charges, but still he is being asked to step down by protestors, which is not right. Vedike Secretary Rakesh Bhat, Sriram Sene’s Sanjay and Yuva Brigade Convenor Chandrashekar were present.
