Provide 22 berth First Class AC coach for trains originating from Mysuru

Sir,

It is given to understand that Train Numbers 16535/16536 Mysuru – Hubballi Hampi Express runs combined with an RSA with 17307/17308 Mysuru-Solapur Golgumbaz Express. Also 16209/16210 Mysuru-Ajmer Express runs combined with an RSA with 16229/16230 Mysuru – Varanasi Express. All these trains run with a combined rake sharing arrangement (RSA) with 4 rakes each in both the directions. Thus the coach composition remains unchanged throughout the journey consisting of sleeper coaches, AC 3 tier coaches, AC 2 tier coach and one composite First Class AC-cum -AC 2 tier coach.

Presently for the First Class AC-cum-AC 2 tier coach from Mysuru for all these trains, a limited quota of berths exists for First Class AC portion. The composite coaches of First Class AC in these trains consist just 10 berths for an entire leg of journey, as the other composite portion consist of upto 20 AC 2 Tier berths. Thereby it gives no room for people like Senior Citizens and Tourists to book the tickets on First Class AC coaches in these trains and thus causes an inconvenience to avail confirmed reservation due to limited number of berths.

It may be noted that the arrangement of First Class AC composite coaches for such trains that run on long distances originating from Mysuru does not serve any purpose and is of little help, as the trains run beyond 12 hours. The demand surges especially during festival seasons, weekend holidays and during Dasara when Mysuru witnesses heavy influx of tourists.

The Railway authorities concerned are requested to urgently replace the current arrangement of just 10 berth First Class AC composite coach with a complete 22 berth First Class AC coach for the trains that originate from Mysuru — that is, Hampi Express, Golgumbaz Express, Mysuru – Ajmer Express and Mysuru – Varanasi Express.
