Provide additional train service during Dasara season

Sir,

The recent development to allow advance reservation by AC coach to travel by Malgudi Express is a welcome step, especially owing to anticipated rush during the upcoming Dasara.

As Dasara festival is just a few days away, necessary arrangement should be made by the Railways to arrange for special trains between Bengaluru and Mysuru. Such an effort can be undertaken by extending a few trains terminating at Bengaluru that arrive from various places with high demand like Hyderabad, Chennai and New Delhi.

Also there is an urgent need for an additional service to New Delhi via Bengaluru apart from the existing weekly service from Mysuru by Swarna Jayanti Express that operates via Hassan.

An additional connectivity to New Delhi via Bengaluru plays a vital role to link Mysuru with other important cities. Due to lack of an additional direct connectivity to Delhi from Mysuru, one still has to change trains at Bengaluru. The passengers are forced to travel only by either of daily available trains — Karnataka Express, Rajdhani Express and Sampark Kranti Express that operate from Bengaluru.

Hence an effort should be made to either introduce a new train from Mysuru  or to consider the extension of some of the trains from Bengaluru which provide connectivity to New Delhi via Hyderabad. The suggestion can be experimented on a short term basis during Dasara.
