Provide brief commercial stop for Mysuru-Ajmer Express at Kengeri

Sir,

Train number 16209/16210 Mysuru-Ajmer Express runs as a Weekly train with stops only at Mandya, Ramanagaram, Bengaluru Station and then continues on Hubballi-Miraj-Pune-Vadodra-Ahmedabad route till Ajmer.

The train thus provides a vital connectivity on Bengaluru-Pune section upon commencing its journey from Mysuru but only without a commercial stop at Kengeri. Such a move has only caused an inconvenience to long distance travellers intending to board at Kengeri Railway Station itself.

It should be further noted that this is the only non-superfast category express train that doesn’t have a commercial stop at Kengeri Railway Station. Otherwise all the other non-superfast category express trains operating between Bengaluru and Mysuru have a commercial stop at Kengeri while benefiting the many passengers.

As Kengeri is now an important sub-urban station and acts as a crucial gateway to connect to Mysuru, it is high time now that the Bi-Weekly Mysuru-Ajmer Express is provided with a brief commercial stopover here. Further the passengers will be rightly benefited to be connected to long distance cities like Miraj, Vasai Road, Surat, Pune, Ahmedabad, Baroda etc., through this train’s stoppage at Kengeri and will further help ensure the Railways to de-congest Bengaluru Railway Station to an extent.

I urge the South Western Railway authorities at Mysuru Division to consider a brief commercial halt to train number 16209/16210 Mysuru-Ajmer Bi-Weekly Express at Kengeri Railway Station.
