Provide Iris Scan facility at Common Service Centres

Sir,

Apropos to the letter in SOM dated Nov. 18 by Kamala regarding the difficulty of pensioners in submitting Life Certificate, the authorities concerned are requested to provide Iris (eye) Scan facility along with the Finger Print device as finger prints of some of the pensioners may not tally with the ones available with Aadhaar data base.

In such cases, the pension disbursing banks are directing the pensioners to go to PF Office for eye scan. PF Office being located at far off place in Gayathripuram, it is very inconvenient. Hence, the authorities are requested to provide Iris Scan facility at all the Common Service Centres (CSCs) where the pensioners go to submit Life Certificates.

Sir,

I am aged 76 and getting EPF pension for the past 20 years. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the authorities have made some arrangements to submit the Life Certificate (Digital) which necessitates biometric evidence. Due to age factor, my fingers do not co-operate for taking biometric finger print. Iris Scan is said to be the alternative for this. But the Banks, Post Offices or Common Service Centres are not having the device for Iris Scan and so they are unable to help me and advised me to go to the PF Regional Office.

But when I enquired the Regional Office they told me they are not allowing anybody to submit the Life Certificate at their office. Under these circumstances I simply do not know how to submit the Digital Life Certificate. Will the authorities concerned help persons like me?
