Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi performs at MITT

Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi from Hubballi presenting a Hindustani classical vocal recital at MIT Thandavapura (MITT) on Dec. 3. He is accompanied by Keshav Joshi on tabla and Gaurav Gadiyar on harmonium.

Mysore/Mysuru: Maharaja Institute of Technology Thandavapura (MITT), along with SPICMACAY (Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Among Youth), had organised a music concert at its premises on Dec. 3.

Renowned vocalist of international fame, Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi from Hubballi presented Hindustani classical vocal recital. He was accompanied on tabla by Keshav Joshi and on harmonium by Gaurav Gadiyar.

Institution Principal Dr. Y.T. Krishnegowda spoke about institutions like IIT, IIMs, IISc etc., organising such programmes and introducing them in their institution helps in creating awareness about India’s arts, music and culture among students.

MET Trust Joint Secretary Dr. H.K. Chetan and Programme Coordinator Dr. B.K. Venkatesh were present.
