Mysuru: Sri Guru Puttaraja Sangeetha Sabha had organised a function on Sunday at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road here which featured a music programme in memory of late Pt. K.S. Hadapada and award presentation ceremony.
Pt. Indudhar Nirody conferred the Pt. K.S. Hadapada Award on Pt. Madiwalaiah Saali.
Speaking on the occasion, Pt. Nirody opined that becoming an artiste is easy but not a Guru to teach and propagate the art.
He commended Tabla artiste Pt. Madiwalaiah Saali in becoming a maestro and Guru in Tabla drawing hundreds of students. He claimed it a feat when youngsters keep away from classical music especially percussion instruments.
Neurologist and Musician Dr. M.S. Bhaskar, Sabha President Bheemashankar Bidanur and others were present.
Earlier to that, students of SGP Sangeetha Vidyalaya’s Manasa S. Samaga, Anthony Rohan, I. Naragund, Shashank Vattam and Deesha Harsha presented a Group Tabla concert in perfect unison.
