PU lecturers urge Government to release salaries on time

Mysuru: Urging the Government to release their salaries on time, PU lecturers under the banner of  Mysuru District Unit of Karnataka State Pre-University Colleges Lecturers Association staged a token demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here this morning seeking fulfilment of their various demands.

The demands included timely release of wages of all teaching and non-teaching staff of the PUE Department, merging of ex-gratia paid to lecturers appointed after Aug.1, 2008 with Basic pay, constitution of a Committee to decide on workload of lecturers, redressal of wage issues concerning lecturers serving at aided institutions, promotion of lecturers as Principals, thirty percent hike in the evaluation fee of second PU answer papers and implementation of New Pension Scheme (NPS) for lecturers of aided colleges, among others.

Later, they presented  a memorandum containing their 22-point charter of demands to the DC’s office.

Association President B.C. Yoganand, office-bearers M.M. Mahadev, A.C. Manjegowda, Nagabushan Aradhya, Umesh, Nagaraj and others led the protest.
