Public beat up youths for hooliganism

Mysuru:  A group of hooligans, who were waylaying vehicles and behaving indecently, were caught by the public and beaten up at K.C. Nagar last night.

Last night, when a resident of K.C. Nagar was proceeding in his car, a group of eight hooligans stopped the car and one of them reportedly placed his hand on the resident’s head and asked him to drive safely, teased him and ran away. The hooligans are also said to have stopped some more vehicles and teased them in the similar way.

Meanwhile, some members of the public, who were observing, chased them, caught some of them and beat them up.

A few City Armed Reserve (CAR) Police personnel, who saw the incident, summoned the parents of the youths, advised the youths and sent them away. No complaint has been registered in this regard. Meanwhile, the residents of K.C. Nagar have complained that some youths perform wheelie at the Lalitha Mahal helipad and on the roads besides riding bikes at reckless speed, which is increasing day by day.

They said that though we give Police complaints, the youths flee by the time the Garuda Police arrive at the spot and added that if the Cops catch some of them, they only question them and send them away, which is resulting in such incidents increasing in the locality.
