Public behaviour at vaccination centre

Vaccination drive underway at Gowrishankaranagar School in city this morning.

Sir,

I was very disappointed by observing the behaviour of some of our fellow citizens during these unprecedented times. I went with my mother for her second dose of vaccine at the ESI Hospital on Friday. The vaccine was supposed to arrive and hence the token distribution was stopped.

But once the vaccine arrival was confirmed, token distribution started. Unfortunately, the server was slow and was taking time for registration. In the meanwhile, people started to throw tantrums.

Some of them wanted priority in the queue because they did not have breakfast while others wanted priority citing the reason that they are old and cannot stay there for long. Some others took the token and went away, came back late, demanding priority.

My opinion is that if one didn’t have his/her breakfast, it is not the fault of the workers at the vaccination centre. If one is bringing an aged person for vaccination, why can’t one come on their behalf early and wait?

I appeal to the public to behave at the vaccination centre and not throw any tantrums panicking the people around and the staff.
