Public express anger over digging of newly asphalted roads

Mysuru: With newly asphalted roads in city being dug up to take up various civic works, the public have expressed anger over the functioning of the authorities concerned.

With Dasara festivities fast approaching, the density of traffic would also increase in city. With major roads like M.G. Road, JLB Road (in front of MUDA) and many roads across the city been dug up. The public said that there would be traffic jams on major roads besides expressing doubts whether the works would be completed before the commencement of Dasara.

They said that because of the callous and negligent attitude of the officials concerned, newly asphalted roads have been dug up at various places in city to take up works and added that the works would have been taken up before asphalting the road, which may have not resulted in wastage of taxpayers’ money. The public alleged that many trenches dug up on roads are not covered properly.

Apart from roads, the footpaths on JLB Road and near Court Complex have been dug up, leaving pedestrian to walk on roads.
