Pulse Polio immunisation drive from Mar.10 to 12

Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G. Sankar has said that 2,49,954 children below five years will be administered pulse polio immunisation drops in the district from Mar.10 to 12.

Speaking to media persons after chairing the preliminary meeting of preparations held at his office here on Tuesday, he said that the drive will be held in city, all towns of the district on all the three days, while it will be held for two days in rural areas on Mar.11 and 12.

Vaccinators will visit door-to-door on Mar.11 and 12.

The District Administration has set up 1,628 booths including hospitals, schools, anganwadi centres, transit points and mobile units for administration of the drops.

About 6,512 staff have been appointed for the purpose.

Instructions have been given to all School Heads, Education and Health Department officials to provide wide publicity for the success of the drive as well as to give special focus on children of migrants, industrial workers and slum areas.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Anuradha, District Health Officer Dr. B. Basavaraj and others were present during the meeting.
