Queensland University awards Ph.D to Mysuru Researcher

Mysore/Mysuru: Supreetha Paleyanda Ponnappa, a Mysurean, has been awarded Ph.D. degree after completion of research at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane, Australia, on Mar. 25.  

She has completed the thesis on “Electromerization studies of conjugated monomers and their biosensor applications” which can help in early detection of protein in the body (cancerous malignant cells).  

 She has also been awarded High Achiever HRD student-2019 from the QUT.  An alumnus of SJCE in Mysuru, she passed her M.Tech by securing Gold Medal from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi.

She got the Doctorate degree in Nano Engineering of Technology under the guidance of Dr. Prashanth Sonar,  an Associate Professor of QUT and Dr. Mohammed Siddiqui, a senior lecturer in Griffith University, Australia. 

Supreetha is the daughter of Paleyanda Ponnappa, a senior advocate practicing in Mysuru and Bhagyavathi, a retired Government Officer from Irrigation Department, residing in Vijayanagar 3rd Stage. Their son Paleyanda Ponnappa Santhosh  is a senior Inspector of Police in Mysuru.
