Mysuru: Dr. Mysore Manjunath, one of the finest Indian Violinists, will be performing in the Indian Republic Day (R-Day) celebrations at the Indian Consulate in Jaffna, Sri Lanka.
His daughter Malavi Manjunath will be playing along with him in a series of Violin Concerts across Sri Lanka. They are scheduled to perform at the Music Festival in Jaffna at the Cultural Centre on Jan. 28 in connection with the Bharat Week along with concerts at the University of Jaffna, SVIAS -Eastern University in Batticaloa and Colombo. This is the maiden overseas concert tour of Malavi.
Dr. Manjunath, Professor of Music at the Fine Arts College, University of Mysore, is respected as a creative genius by music lovers and critics. His unique blend of technical mastery, musicality and innovation has solidified his place as one of the most influential figures in the history of Karnatak violin.
