R.K. Padmanabha’s Veena concert at Mysore Vasudevacharya’s House

Mysuru; Vid. R.K. Padmanabha, a renowned Veena artiste, will be presenting a Veena concert at the house of Sangeeta Kalanidhi Mysore Vasudevacharya, located on New Sayyaji Rao Road (opposite Senthil Kumar Textiles)  in city on Feb. 26 (Sunday).

He will be accompanied by Vid. S. Kumaraswamy on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on ghata. The 2-hour concert is scheduled for 10.30 am. The event is open to all music-lovers.

Hailing from a family of famous musicians of Rudrapatna, Vid. Padmanabha is the son of renowned Asthana Vidwan of Mysore royal court R.S. Keshavamurthy.  He is an ‘A’ grade artiste in All India Radio and performs regularly in AIR and Doordarshan. He has given Veena concerts all over the country and overseas, including USA. He is today the torch-bearer of the famous Mysore Subbanna School of Veena playing.

Trained under stalwarts Guruvayur Dorai and Tanjore Upendran and pursuing training under Dr. T.V. Gopalakrishnan, Vid. Kumaraswamy is also an  ‘A’ grade artiste of AIR. He has accompanied many stalwarts in many reputed sabhas.

Vid. Ramesh is a very senior percussionist, having played with many famed artistes.
