R. Mahadevu (82), a resident of Halebandikeri, near Shanthala Theatre, passed away following brief illness in city last night.

He leaves behind his wife Gowramma, son Shivakumar, proprietor of Capital Colour Lab, daughter Poornima and a host of relatives and friends. His eldest son Viji, had predeceased him last year.

Last rites were held at the foot of Chamundi Hill this afternoon, according to sources.
