Raaga Rangayana rekindles spirit of freedom

Mysore/Mysuru: ‘Raaga Rangayana – Swatantramrutha,’ a  patriotic song singing chorus organised at the city’s theatre repertory Rangayana on Saturday as part of 75th year of Independence rekindled the spirit of freedom and patriotism among the audience.

More than 20 Rangayana artistes took part in the chorus, singing patriotic songs such as ‘Vande Mataram’, ‘Vaishanava Janato’, ‘Raghupathi Raghava Rajaram’, ‘Mere Desh ki Dharti’ etc., which earned huge praise from the audience.

Earlier, RSS Dakshina Pranta Sanchalak Venkatram, who spoke after inaugurating the programme, said that the country is like a mother to everyone and as such every citizen should love the country.

Pointing out that phrases  such as ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ are words of great inspiration and a rallying cry for our countrymen, he observed that these words have all the more significance now, at a time when the country is facing problems from across the border.

On the occasion, Venkatram released  a booklet on plays ‘Kadadida Neeru’ and ‘Taamra Patra’, scripted by Rangayana’s Ranga Shikshana Shaale.

Rangayana Director Addanda C. Cariappa, Rangayana Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjuna Swamy and others were present.
