Mandya: G. Radhika took charge as the Mandya SP here yesterday from Additional SP Savitha, who was the in-charge SP.
Speaking on the occasion, Radhika, who previously served as DCP (Law and Order) in Belagavi, said that a special squad on the lines of ‘Rani Chennamma Squad,’ would be formed in the district to prevent atrocities against women. Adding that priority would be given to protection of women and children, the new SP sought people to extend their cooperation to Police.
Radhika replaces C.H. Sudheer Kumar Reddy who was transferred to Dakshina Kannada. A Computer Science graduate, Radhika has plans to use the technology in detecting and preventing crime. She is the second woman SP for Mandya district after Malini Krishnaswamy.
