Raghasamvardhini Music School celebrates anniversary

 The anniversary celebrations of city based Raghasamvardhini Music School was held at the Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road in city recently.

Dr. M.N. Sudheendra Rao, noted scholar and former Vice- Chancellor of Karnataka Central University, Kalaburagi presided.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that music was divine and lauded the contribution of Saint Purandaradasa in spreading Karnatak Music and lauded the activities of Raghasamvardhini Music School.

Veteran musician M.L. Bharathi, who inaugurated the programme, explained about her music journey and said that             even though she herself was a good singer, she was encouraging others to sing. She further said that she had composed         music for ‘Dasara Keerthanas’ and the same were sung by noted musician Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar.

Noted veena artiste and musicologist Dr. R.K. Padmanabha in his speech said that Raghasamvardhini Music School is doing well and wished all success to its student.

School children performed ‘Radha Ramana Hari Govinda Bholo’ dance on the occasion.

Anasuya Sudharshan, President of the school, Vidushi Saraswathi Raghavan, school office-bearers and members were present on the occasion.
